Showing line duplicated when it is not

Post by rjbill »

This is kind of a potentially bad bug. Hopefully it is just a viewing / display issue and nothing bad is happening down inside.

I can't re-create it. Sorry.

I opened a file and scrolled down toward the bottom, and I noticed a line was duplicated.
Which was very obvious, and I didn't think I would make that kind of a mistake.
It was a PHP-HTML file.
So I looked on my website page, and the line wasn't duplicated there.

So I went back to the editor, thinking it must have happened after I had saved and uploaded the version I had online.

I clicked on the top line and they immediately converged into one line.

So it was apparently some type of a viewing / display issue.

I wish I could give you more info as to how and why and when it happens so you can more easily track it down.

This is a pretty new thing. I have never seen the editor do this kind of thing before.

Good luck.

I think it just happened again.

I opened a file to edit it, and clicked on a line where I wanted to start editing,
and the screen "jumped" (scrolled?) and the cursor wasn't on the line and location
where I clicked. It was one or two lines lower. (all of which was disconcerting)

So I don't know if one (or more of) of the lines was duplicated or what happened.

I closed the file and re-opened it, and it was normal, so I couldn't duplicate the problem.
