Syntax highlighting colors are (very) limited

Post by rjbill »

I am new to the editor, so I was changing the syntax highlighting colors for
HTML, PHP, JavaScript, and CSS, using multi-highlighter.

The color options are extremely limited.

It looks like maybe the chooser is a "web-safe" colors chooser. (?)

Even the light colors are too "bright" or vibrant.

But there is a "general color chooser" that has "full-color" specification.
(for inserting colors into your edited files, I think)

Why is one color-chooser used for one specification and another for the other?

I like lighter, more pastel colors for backgrounds so it's easier on the eyes.

Is this going to be changed?

Is there any way I can go in manually somewhere and edit a file to change
the colors until (hopefully) this is changed?

Thanks.

(I looked for info on this in help, the website, and searching here, and
couldn't find any info)

Just click on the color buttons, not the drop-down arrow, to open a color dialog.
