SOLVED? ReadOnly wrongly set (another issue)

Post by lolo » 06 Apr 2017 13:59

Using v12.06 64-bit on WIN10 64bit

- Open a readonly file => marked correctly on the tab
- Close the file and remove the readonly attribute from windows explorer
- Open the file again

-> The file is still marked as readonly by TextEd

Thanks and have a nice day.

Same editor- and same windows-version.

Uncheck the option to save read-only status (Options -> File -> Save status for last open files).

I cannot reproduce it anymore.
Perhaps since I have modified options the normal behavior has been restored.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Hello,

In fact, I always have this strange behavior.

I simply create a new file and add Read Only attribute from File Exporer
I open it with RJ TextEd => The file is displayed Read Only in its tab
I close the file (but not close RJ TextED)
I remove the Read Only attribute on the file from File Explorer
I open it again in RJ TextED => The file is still displayed/opened in Read Only mode

And for information, the checkbox "Save status for last open files" is unchecked.

Are you able to reproduce it

My config :
Windows 10 Professional Build 1703
RJ TextED v12.40 x64

I for one can't confirm: RJ TE works fine for me in this regard (and other regards as well ;))

It seems to happen randomly on my machine. It should be fixed in v12.41.

After some tests, it seems to happen every time when the file is stored on a network folder (like \\myserver\folder\test.sql)
On local drive, RJ TextEd seems to work fine.
