It would be nice if/when there are one or more items CHECKED in the MRU,
that (accidentally) clicking on an item name because you missed the checkbox,
that it ignores that and does not try to open that file.
You could also make it check/uncheck boxes WHEN you click on the item name
WHEN you are in "Checkbox Mode". (one or more checkboxes are checked)
Either/both of those would be nice behaviors.

The option already exists in "Option -> Program -> Remove invalid files from the recent files list (MRU)".Clear entries of files that don't exist anymore
I haven't tested it recently though...
