Export found text?

Post by rjbill »

I thought the editor already did this, or maybe I asked for it as a Feature and it was never done.

But I need the FOUND text only from a regular expression, and the ability to copy it into the buffer or export it to a file, not the line number and full line with highlighted found text.

Am I missing something / not remembering about how to do this?

It had been so long since I had done that, I forgot how, but then finally remembered.

You use the COUNT function of the Search dialog box.

I didn't remember this, either :( RJ TE is so complex that I surmise sometimes Rickard can't recall everything 8)
