Change print font size ?

Post by pascor »

Am using v16.36 64-bit. Can't get the print font to change size using Environment-> Options->Fonts and tabs -> Print font. Previous version didn't work either. Is there any work-around ? Is anyone working on this bug ?

Indeed my editor crashes when I try to print a page using OpenType font, and PDF that is saved (I only have a virtual printer) is broken; no problems with TrueTypes fonts. Preview works well for OpenType fonts, though.

When I set an OpenType font, pull-down with available font sizes usually holds only one entry, sometimes two.

I need more information.

1. Windows version (7,10,11, or something else?)
2. Font you're trying to use?
3. Are font sizes listed in the dropdown list?
4. What exactly do you mean by "can't get the print fint to change"? Is it not saved when you reopen settings, or is it not visible when you print the document?

NOTE! When you print something there is an option to auto adjust the font size. This will ignore the font size you set in options.

You can try e.g. Yrsa. It shows only one size:
print font opentype.png
print font opentype.png (57.04 KiB) Viewed 2489 times
which you can manually change, but this is not remembered. You can set it as the main editor font, too, but only with two sizes: 12 or 32. (If you want to try this font, remember to install OpenType variant, as it comes in two.)

Tested on Win7 and Win10.

Windows 10

2. Font you're trying to use?
Lucida Console

3. Are font sizes listed in the dropdown list?
Yes

The new font size is remembered in Options..., but it simply is not being used elsewhere. I change the font size by: Environment -> Options -> Fonts and tabs -> Print font and then change the font size using the Size dropdown box. The resulting Print Preview page doesn't show the new font size and Print doesn't use the new size, either. Closing and reopening TextEd again shows the new saved size, but still won't use it.

Thanks :)

Is this option checked?

If so, uncheck it.
