FIXED: 16.68b2 - regressions in markdown file

I think we've had a bit of regression in this version...
at a minimum, it has confusion about
```cpp
int some_var = 0 ;
```
and partway through the document, it missed a tailing ```
and left all the rest of the document in "cpp" color...
